Simple Habits of Highly Creative People

Creativity is a gift allocated to special people but it is not so, creativity involves the coming
together of a multitude of traits, behaviors and social influences in an individual. As a human,
we are all wired to create. The key is recognizing that creativity is multifaceted on the level
of the brain, personality, and the creative process. Although it can be developed just like any
other skill, you can become a highly creative individual if you cultivate the traits or habits
that could help you tap into your creative side. Below are the simple habits of highly creative
people.

1. They Explore Their Imagination
We are what we think, all that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we recreate
the world. Creative people see possibilities everywhere and constantly take down information
as it comes to them. Sometimes, when am relaxing and an idea hits me I don’t hesitate to jot
down my thought on my writing pad this exercise has helped me overtime to remember every
idea that passes through my mind.

2. Creative People Trust Their Intuition
The human mind treats a new idea the same way the body treats a strange protein. Most of
the time people hardly believe in ideas they are unacquainted with, Most successful people
got to where they are today because when they are told “ NO” they constantly say “YES”.
Your creative ideas may differ from the conventional but that does not mean you are wrong.
Carry out proper research and listen to your mind but never sweep your idea under the rug.

3. Connect the Dots
Steve Jobs spoke about this in his famous commencement speech where he said “Creative
thinkers produce ideas by finding the relationship between facts. Facts merely on their own
are useless until one sees the connection between them.” Ideas do not just connect on its own,
you have to explore a little because creative thinkers find the relationship between facts.

4. Always Make the Most Out of Challenges
More often than not challenges and setbacks we face in our lives restrict us or puts an end to
our creative energy. However, challenges are the best ways to test us and provide us with the
best opportunity to come with creative solutions and achieve growth. When next a challenge
comes your way don’t back down or run from it, put your creativity to the test and come up
with new and innovative ways to defeat it.

5. Take time to explore your imagination
“We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we
create the world.” —The Buddha
We amplify what we think about the most. The freedom of daydreaming can bring about
new ideas and this may spring up creative thought processes. People often feel
daydreaming can be unproductive but that is not often the case. Channel your thoughts to
bring about new innovations and idea, you may just find yourself thinking up your next great
idea.
